On June 3rd, Thursday night, the 2010 NBA Finals began. At the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics were playing, and both teams came into the game with high hopes and a wave of momentum. The Los Angeles Lakers made those hopes a reality, while the Celtics had their hopes slightly diminished.
In Game 1, the Game 1, but the Lakers looked even more dominant than the score lets on. Kevin Garnett was tasked with guarding Pau Gasol and he looked like he had no idea what to do with him. Gasol ended the game with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Finishing with 30 points and 7 rebounds, Kobe Bryant was very good as usual.
There were a couple bright spots for the Celtics in Game 1, despite the loss. There were a couple bright spots for the Celtics in Game 1 and there were a couple bright spots for the Celtics in Game 1 in only 18 minutes. Kevin Garnett also did pretty well on the offensive side of things, ending with 16 points and 4 rebounds.
One thing was painfully clear, regardless of the few bright spots for Boston. Before Game 2 on Sunday, if they are unable to fix the holes in their defense, it is going to turn out the same way that Game 1 did. Before Game 2, the Celtics simply have to figure out a way to stop the Lakers’ 1-2 punch of Gasol and Bryant, or the 2010 Finals will be a very short series.
